YAP-II Activity Details

PUBLIC RELATIONS (PR)

As part of YAP-II, PR activity is mainly focused on operations of the DJB with emphasis on improving the visibility, brand image and public acceptability of YAP- II infrastructure schemes for abating pollution in the Yamuna River Basin. The PR activities will mainly cover the areas of the trunk sewer and STP projects to be constructed. The following objectives are expected to be achieved through the PR activities:

1. Enhance public awareness and educate citizens on the Yamuna, Delhi’s lifeline – its current status, sources of pollution and mitigation measures.
2. Influence public perception, attitude, practice and involve stakeholder groups in caring for the Yamuna.
3. Bridge perception gaps
4. Disseminate information to stakeholders about constraints under which DJB is trying to accomplish its tasks and seek their cooperation.
5. Educate public about the measures being taken to abate river pollution.
